No changes to the position of the previous administration at this time.
During a White House press briefing on Monday, White House press secretary Jen Paski noted that President Biden was currently assessing the trade relationship between China and the United States. She affirmed that the president, “is committed to stopping China’s economic abuses.” No changes to the trade tariffs implemented by President Trump’s administration have been noted at this time.
Little has changed in the trade relationship between China and the United States in the last year. The most recent change was a commitment from China to buy more American soybeans, but amid the COVID-19 pandemic, it was only able to purchase 55% of the promised amounts. Current administration officials will be consulting with the nation’s allies prior to moving any new policies forward.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For the White House to be led by God to negotiate the best trade agreements possible.
- For the Lord to work through the president with regard to U.S. policies involving China.
- That God would help Americans turn to Him in the midst of economic challenges due to the pandemic.
